Elijah: Cliff.

I recently finished the website for Borodash – a non-profit race in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It raises money for my friend and his work with Neema House in Tanzania and also the awesome folks at Greenhouse Ministries.

Recent goodness from Elijah.

Eyebob = Eyeball
“I’m breaking them to pizzas.” = “I’m breaking them to pieces.”
Escavator = Escalator
Uhaw = Utah
Ooleegee = Luigi

I saw him picking is nose and asked if he needed a tissue. He didn’t answer. I asked again. He replied, “No, I just put it back in the nose.”

——-

And from Noah.

After watching a show on PBS where a dog had eaten a sock, Noah recapped what was going on:

“They’re taking the dog to the vet because he ate a sock and they’ve got to get it out of his butt veins…or somethin’.”

What do you say to that?

And then my favorite. I overheard Noah explaining something to Elijah so I listened in (it’s usually pretty interesting):

“God is with you. He’s everywhere. He’s here beside me, over there, in the whole house. He’s always with Dad. He gives you everything you need. Pizza. Peppermints. Everything. You. Need.”

Made my day.

——-

Need a good laugh? Watch this. So true. So, so true.

We are taking care of our first foster child. We started with two, actually, but are now with only one as the oldest went to stay with grandparents. It’s been a blessed time, but a pretty big adjustment.

——-

Kristi and I are headed to Washington, D.C., next week. I’ve got a meeting there on Thursday but we’re also going to spend some time around town and watching the fireworks on the 4th since Kristi has never been there. We’ll fly out of Atlanta, leaving the boys with my parents (who graciously provided airline tickets).

——-

Some good news regarding Innate Productions. We recently worked with Real Girls (teen girls outreach), filming some videos and putting together a presentation for Impact. It seems Lifeway is interested in their work and now may be interested in ours. We may have a video on their site soon and hopefully a meeting to discuss other projects.

I’ll post one video soon. It turned out great.

——-

Elijah can’t say Chattanooga. He says, “Chaganooda.”

——-

The newest Christian non-Christian show on television? The Philanthropist. Don’t expect it to last, though. If that doesn’t work for you, try Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Both shows example how we should be towards others every day. The Philanthropist is about a rich man who starts doing everything in his power to “help those less fortunate”, to use a churchy word. By the way, “rich man” equals you.

——-

If you haven’t discovered the gloriousness that is McKay’s, you might want to make a stop next time your in the area of Nashville, Knoxville or Chattanooga. Besides some great deals on books (Blue Like Jazz for 75 cents), we picked up a few good CDs for 92 cents each. They’re in the bargain/scratched bin and all of them play just fine.

Most of the books I bought under a dollar to just give away. Figure it’s a cheap way to bless people with books I have been blessed by myself (the aforementioned Blue Like Jazz, for example). First to claim it gets it free but you must promise to read it.

——-

Remember if you are interested in being an intercessor for my family, Innate Productions, and anything else I get my hands on, please email me. I would love to have a group of prayer warriors behind the ideas I am working on. I think God is up to something huge and I simply don’t think Satan will watch from the sidelines. If spiritual warfare isn’t a familiar thing to you, that’s ok. Guidance will be provided in soon-to-start weekly email updates.

Pringles On Your Face

Jun 08 2009 Published by under Blog,E-bonics,Punctum Media

Various updates and enjoyable things.

—–

I put Elijah to bed tonight and was beside him after we read our book. He put his hands on my face and said, “You have pringles on your face. You need to shave.”

—–

We bought some shelves off of Craigslist a couple of weeks ago. We ended up talking God and church with Darren for about 40 minutes before HE loaded up the shelves into his own truck and drove them back to our house for us. He also invited us back to a birthday party for his five-year-old son that afternoon. So, we showed up again later to a party with a bunch of people we had never met for a kid who didn’t seem to mind strangers at his party. We stayed for two or three hours.

I met the sister of the guy who started Watermelon Ministries. Awesome.

——

We sold something on Craigslist the other day. They (the dad and three sons…there were three girls at home, as well) came and we talked for a little while, as well. Good family, and Noah and Elijah played with the three boys as if they had known them forever. Our kids are good at that. I have no idea where they got it.

He (Steve) told me about a friend of his who started Both Hands Foundation. Awesome, as well.

——

We have been cleaning out our house. And instead of having a yard sale, we’re just putting up signs this Saturday to give everything away. It’s all free (and there is a lot).

Several people have said that it’s a great idea because it saves time and energy pricing things. True. Very true. But, we just really want to give away this stuff. God has been more than good to us. It’s time to start returning the favor. We’re going to try to out-give God in our lives and see what happens.

Kristi has been reading a book about servant evangelism. This and a few other things led us to where we are now spiritually and mentally regarding life, love and Jesus. And in regards to this I probably owe a lot of you a detailed explanation of why I left North Boulevard and why we’re doing what we are doing now. I will start working on it, I promise.

——

We’re headed to Chattanooga this week. Some cool folks at North Boulevard got us a going away present. So the four of us will spend a few days away. We’re really looking forward to it. We could really use a minor break like this, especially considering that things haven’t really slowed down since I left my job. Speaking of leaving my job…

——

In case you were wondering, I have been working on some things. No, none of them pay. But honestly, I’m not at all worried about that. God has always taken care of us and there’s no reason to think he won’t now, especially since he has led us to this point to begin with.

I worked on some artwork for Impact with David Skidmore before I left; I worked on more artwork and video for an Impact session being led by the ladies at Real Girls, a teen girls outreach (I’ll post the videos when I have them); Investigating the start-up of a non-profit organization; Will travel to D.C. at the end of the month to do some…research, lets say, for another possible non-profit. I’ll fill you in more later.

If it works out it will be the coolest thing ever.

——

Further updates…

We sold a bunk bed to a lady across town. She’s a single mom and quite possibly the most Southern person I’ve met in a while. On the way out – no joke – she asked if we watch “‘rastlin’”.
